The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has announced an extension in the timelines for the implementation of the Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2021 (CRO), as it relates to television sets.
Originally scheduled to come into effect on April 26, 2025, the order, which mandates compliance with IS 18112: 2022 for television sets, has now been extended to October 26, 2025. This extension follows discussions with stakeholders and requests from the industry for additional time to meet the requirements.

The aim of this order is to promote the manufacturing of high-quality and energy-efficient electronic products in India, further supporting the Make in India initiative.
