BIS (Quality Control) Amendment Order for the Rice Bran Fatty Acids
The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has introduced the Rice Bran Fatty Acids (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2025, which will take effect on 24th October, 2025.
The order applies to goods or articles containing Rice Bran Fatty Acids, with an exception for those intended for export.
To ensure compliance, products related to Rice Bran Fatty Acids must meet the corresponding Indian Standard IS 12068:1987 and bear the Standard Mark. This requires obtaining a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, following Scheme-I as outlined in Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
The certifying and enforcing authority for products covered by this order, specifically Rice bran fatty acids, is the Bureau of Indian Standards.
IMPOERTANT NOTES :
Any individual found in violation of this order's provisions will be subject to penalties as per the relevant Act.
