BIS QCO for the Protective Textiles (Protective gloves for firefighters)
The Ministry of Textile, shall take effect on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
The Protective Textiles (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024, issued by the Ministry of Textile, shall take effect on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
This order is designed to regulate the quality standards for goods or articles, specifically Protective gloves for firefighters, excluding those intended for export.
In adherence to the stipulated standards, the goods or articles, as defined by IS 16874 : 2018 (Textiles - Protective Gloves for Firefighters - Specification), must conform to the corresponding Indian Standard and bear the Standard Mark. Manufacturers are required to obtain a license from the Bureau, following Scheme-I of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
Any individual found in violation of this order will face penalties in accordance with the provisions outlined in the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016).
