The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has issued a Quality Control Order known as the Cables (Quality Control) Order, 2020.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has issued a Quality Control Order known as the Cables (Quality Control) Order, 2020.
Effective from August 1, 2020, this order applies to Halogen Free Flame Retardant (HFFR) Cables.
Goods or articles of Halogen Free Flame Retardant (HFFR) Cables for use in mines must adhere to the corresponding Indian Standard IS 17048 : 2018, specifying Halogen Free Flame Retardant (HFFR) Cables for Working Voltages Up to and Including 1100 V – Specification. They should bear the Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, in accordance with Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
However, this order does not apply to goods or articles intended for export.
The Bureau of Indian Standards is designated as the certifying and enforcing authority for Halogen Free Flame Retardant (HFFR) Cables.
